“But you are man…”

January 25, 2009

Well my friends I know it seems crazy to say, but I tried out for the United States Olympic Handball team on January 16th.

Let me tell you, it was quite the experience. There were physical assessments, in which I was tested to the extreme. I wont go into huge detail, but as I walked up to the vertical test, I informed the gentlemen that I had the vertical of a 5 year old girl, he then responded, “but you are man” (sarcasm doesn’t translate in russian…then I had the weakest vertical in the history of vertical jumps. So I wasn’t lying to the russian.

I did well in the scrimmages and should find out more info soon enough!

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers, though it was somewhat of a crazy endeavor, its nice to know you have friends that no matter how outrageous can still love and believe in you.

I am excited for what is yet to come, and looking forward to this semester of school. Hope all is well in your life!

Sincerely,

-AB

This is the new year…

January 1, 2009

Well friends it has been quite the trip this last month of 2008. I am no longer working at new cov, and it feels strange.

On a much crazier note, I will be trying out for the U.S.A. Handball team in New York on January 16th. The tryout will be held at Westpoint, Im looking forward to seeing just how much more talented the dudes are that I will be trying out with. Either way it will make for a good time and good experience. I really wanna check out this chapel while I am there…

Anyway I hope you are doing well and that this New Year brings about some much needed optimism and hope.

The American Dream…

August 19, 2008

Today marks the beginning of something glorious. I just received my Handball in the mail, and we will begin training to become the first U.S.A. team to compete in the sport in the 2012 Olympics. So I might not be blogging it up for a while…till we meet again.
